The human Microbiome is your body’s environment – the inside and the outside. Your body’s environment is what keeps you healthy, or what allows diseases to occur. Everyday you make choices that affect your Microbiome. Your body’s environment consists of the bacteria, fungi, viruses, protists and archaea that live in your body and on your body. We are supposed to have health promoting organisms, bacteria, viruses, etc., but if the health promoting bacteria become outnumbered by un-healthy strains of bacteria, viruses, or fungi, inflammation ensues.Your liver health and your Microbiome are integrally connected. Inflamed tissues are an altered Microbiome, which then is an easier environment for un-healthy organisms to thrive in. The longer the environment is inflamed for and houses pathogenic bacteria, viruses, fungi, protists and archaea the more the environment gets altered, making it progressively easier for un-healthy strains of organisms to thrive which then leads to disease. Think of the perfect storm, and the merging of environments that are catalysts to each other.
How Does Your Microbiome Affect Your Liver?
Liver health and your Microbiome are directly effected by your intestinal tract – and it’s own Microbiota. From the intestines blood is routed to the liver through the hepatic portal vein. This blood being delivered has the absorbed nutrients from digested food and also carries toxins and medications from the intestinal tract to the liver. Studies have shown the liver being effected by bacteria and fungi in people with unhealthy bacterial and fungal over growths in the intestinal tract. These pathogenic organisms do trans-locate and then cause problems to the liver which cumulatively can contribute to cirrhosis.
Multiple studies on people with cirrhosis have all proved that compared with people who do not have cirrhosis, the people with cirrhosis have bacterial strains not found in the people who do not have cirrhosis. Also, the people with cirrhosis have many different types of strains of bacteria, not just 10-20, but upwards of 30-40 of these are strains of bacteria that people that don’t have cirrhosis do not have.
Liver Health and Your Microbiome as relates to Bacterial Toxins
A very common toxin from bacteria is called the Lipopolysaccharide. This toxin does trans-locate from the intestinal tract to the liver and it is known to cause liver damage as well as damage to other parts of your body. Often the term “endotoxin” is used in reference to toxins generated from bacteria. It is known that Lipopolysaccharides, endotoxins, cause changes to the immune system, the lymph system, brain chemistry, the kidneys, the heart, the arteries and veins, reproductive hormones as well as the liver.
A great research study by Seki and colleagues proved that the intestinal bacteria/ microflora was the main source of Lipopolysaccharides entering the liver through the portal hepatic vein and this proved to be “an important prerequisite for the development of liver fibrosis during chronic liver injury.”1 This research is very important in showing how your liver health and your Microbiome are integrally related. For more detailed information on how the gut Microbiome affects your brain please click here.
In another great article in the British Journal of Pharmacology, “The multiple organ dysfunction syndrome caused by endotoxin in the rat: attenuation of liver dysfunction by inhibitors of nitric oxide synthase.”2 The researchers found that Lipopolysaccharides “caused a profound hypotension associated with decreases in cardiac output and oxygen delivery, lactic acidosis, renal and liver dysfunction, and thrombocytopenia.2. This means that blood pressure was reduced enough to cause a low heart rate resulting in not enough oxygen to the entire body resulting in lactic acid build up negatively effecting the kidneys and liver and causing low platelets resulting in lack of clotting.
Liver cirrhosis is prevalent worldwide, and mostly preventable. Liver cirrhosis is the result of a combination of a number of chronic liver diseases. Cirrhosis happens over a number of years. And once liver cirrhosis occurs, the cells of the liver die and either a person gets a liver transplant or they die. Because it does take years for cirrhosis to develop, and there are not glaring symptoms until there is a really big problem, most people do not even realize they might be heading that way.
Contributing Factors to Poor Liver Health
A diet high in processed foods is very taxing to the liver because of the man-made chemicals in processed foods. A diet high in trans-fats is also very taxing to the liver. All pharmaceutical medications, even over the counter medications, are very demanding on the liver and with long-term use end up causing liver problems. It is possible to keep your liver healthy through your lifestyle and Full Body 30 Day Vegan Cleanse can teach you that lifestyle.
Create Liver Health
Liver health and your Microbiome are mostly under your control. You can live a lifestyle that prevents you from getting cirrhosis. Eating foods that are plant based, especially deep green leafy vegetables, are very good for your liver and do make a difference to keeping the cells of the liver healthy and able to break down substances. Seeing a porfessonal Herbalist to help maintain your liver health and your Microbiome can keep you very healthy and make a tremendous difference to your entire body.

Healthy Eating Habits
Why would you want healthy eating habits? If you live in the United States why should you take the time to eat healthfully when it is much more convenient to eat fast food? Why would you care about eating healthfully if you have insurance and your bills will be covered anyway? Why should you eat healthfully when there are prescription medications for almost anything that could go wrong with your body? Is your life made easier just because you eat healthfully? Could your life be better just from being healthy?
It’s so Much More Convenient to Eat Fast Food
If you live in the United States, (I am referring to just life in America because that is what I know), there is a really good chance you have a very packed schedule. It’s a funny one to think about but, did fast food become the billion dollar industry it is because we started filling our schedules so much? Or, did we begin filling our schedules so much because we didn’t have to be home preparing our meals? This is a good question to ponder.
Okay, so, with an abundance of fast food establishments all across America, why should you bother taking the time to prepare your own meals when it is so much more convenient to grab food on the go? If it doesn’t matter to you if you get three times as many calories from one fast food meal then a meal you would most likely cook at home. Most fast food meals are packed with almost as many calories as a person should be eating for the entire day. If it doesn’t matter to you that you will get 33-74 grams of fat in one fast food meal? Which is about as much fat as any person should take in in 1 day. Also, the fat calories from fast food are usually from trans-fats and saturated fats and have negative effects to your liver, your heart, and your blood. These are not the healthy fats that our body needs.
Why would you care about eating healthfully if you have insurance and your bills will be covered anyway?
You pay for insurance, why shouldn’t you just tap into it and let your insurance company cover your medical expenses? Okay, that’s one way to think about it. But, realize that in the last few decades insurance companies have been paying out trillions of dollars. The increases in how much the insurance companies are paying for their insured has multiplied in the last few decades. This matters because it is these astronomical costs that are of course passed on to all of us. This is the reason we all pay an increasing amount to be insured.
Over the last 6 decades, the health of Americans has steadily declined. With that, of course, the medical costs increased. It is not coincidental.
Why should you eat healthfully when there are prescription medications for almost anything that could go wrong with your body?
Even if you are 70 years old, “popping a pill” is taken very casually. Any person younger than 70 has been growing up in an environment that sees prescription medications daily, which allows most people to feel comfortable with them just because of their lifetime of exposure. Some of the exposure is by seeing friends and family members taking medications. Think about the kids now that are growing up seeing medications advertised on television…It is that exposure that breaks down barriers of trust and the thought of harm. Many people don’t have the slightest hesitation about taking a prescription medication. The thought is, “Prescription medications have been around for decades now, they can’t be hurting anyone, right?” This is where what you don’t know can hurt you, even on the FDA website you can look and see the “Adverse Events Reporting” statistics. Here is the range, in 2004 there were 34,739 accidental deaths from prescription medications, and there were 198,828 serious outcomes. Fast forward to 2013, on the FDA website, there were 117,752 accidental deaths and 711,232 serious outcomes.
The better question then is, should you have healthy eating habits and take care of yourself now or just rely on pharmaceutical medications when you will need them?
Could Total Body Health Make Your Life Easier?
In many ways, yes. If you were healthy, if you had healthy eating habits, it could be easier to get up in the morning. If you were healthy, even your sleep could be better. If you were healthy, it would feel great to be able to go out for a walk or bike ride. It would be easier to do even the tasks and errands that you have to do if you feel good. Every aspect of your life filters through your brain with how you are feeling. If you feel good, everything you have to do is made that much easier. This is usually a point that goes unnoticed by many people, but it makes a crucial difference to your life.
Could your Life be Better Just From Being Healthy?
I think so. By being healthy and having healthy eating habits you have more time for fun if you don’t have to go to many doctors appointments. If you are healthy, you will feel good and that means you will most likely be able to enjoy your life. Your brain is impacted by your health, if you are healthy your perspective would be different because there is a difference in the neurotransmitters and hormones produced in a healthy body than the neurotransmitters and hormones that are produced in an unhealthy body.
Bring on The Most Effective Diet
Everyone can have healthy eating habits. If you want to learn how to develop truly great eating habits that you and your family can stick to, take a look at Full Body 30 Day Vegan Cleanse. The sustainable eating plan that can change your life for the better!
The human body is so amazing in all its millions of communications and functions it performs daily in order to keep us alive. The human body is a highly trained organism. It is always adapting. And the human body is also very forgiving. Because the body adapts and is very forgiving, resetting your body is a possibility.
Healthy Eating Habits
If you want to reset your body you will need to have healthy habits. The human body that each person has is a direct result of the habits, the lifestyle, of each person. I fully believe that every person can have a healthy lifestyle. Be honest with yourself and ask yourself: How many vegetables and fruits do I eat every day? How much water do I drink daily? How many ounces of soda do I drink every day? Do you eat processed foods every day? Do you smoke? How many alcoholic drinks do you have on a weekly basis?
Foods that Detox the Body
Natural foods will help you to reset your body. If you eat only foods that are natural, you will reduce the burden to your liver from processed foods. You can also choose to eat foods that are liver cleansing that will make a big difference to resetting your body.
Vegetables and fruits are the foods that will be the best to reset your body and to detox your body because of all the phytonutrients in them. Vegetables and fruits are easily broken down by our digestive tract and all the fiber is very helpful to the intestinal tract as well helping to reduce inflammation, keeping blood sugar levels stable and helping to reduce cholesterol and helping to keep waste products moving along and out.
Get Moving as a Healthy Habit
Our human body is made to move. Really it is. We actually produce more inflammation by sitting, the longer you sit, the more inflammation your body produces. Make exercise a part of your weekly schedule. Put it in your schedule. Cardio workouts should be 3-5 times a week. Strength training should also be 3-5 times a week.
Regular exercise is one of thee best ways to reset your body. It stimulates your metabolism. It helps your liver to be more efficient. It stimulates your intestinal tract.
Exercise is very beneficial to your central nervous system, your brain. The positive benefits here, since your brain is in charge of your entire body, are numerous. From blood flow being increased into the brain from exercise. To stimulating biochemical production from exercise, think serotonin and endorphin’s and reduced cortisol. To setting up strong neuro-connections and even new ones when performing new types of exercise, new ways of moving. Regular exercise is great way to challenge your brain. It helps to keep you young.
Putting it all Together
Putting all these elements together will definitely help you to rest your body. If you adopt healthy eating habits and healthy lifestyle habits your body will adapt. You will change your body, the cells, the organs, your brain. Every one of us is a make up of our cells, what nutrients the cells get, and the bio-chemicals our body produces. If you want to loose weight, or you want to un-do years worth of living an unhealthy lifestyle that has you just not thinking clearly, or dragging everyday, then having a plan to reset your body would be your best approach.
Making choices daily about what to eat is a necessity of our human condition. Since we all have to eat, it comes down to what you are basing your choices on. Are you making conscious choices or are you making unconscious choices? Do you want to feel great everyday or is this something you never think of?
Get Healthy by Eating Food Not by Starving
Starving yourself won’t teach you how to be healthy and starving yourself is not an enjoyable way to live your life. There are some people living their life on smoothies and protein shakes as their meals on a weekly basis. This is not an enjoyable way to go through life. Food is very enjoyable. You don’t have to surrender the pleasure of food to be healthy.
Making Conscious Choices to be Healthy
The only way any person consistently eats healthfully is by making a conscious choice-having that moment of deciding to get healthy eating food. Without having that moment and making this decision, it doesn’t happen. It is important to figure out your reason for wanting to eat healthy food. Maybe you always want to be healthy because you love feeling great (this is definitely my priority); or maybe you want to stay at a healthy weight (this is definitely a priority); or maybe you want to ward off the now very prominent chronic diseases that are prevalent in the industrialized societies due to diet (definitely a priority for me) (these are all reason 1A for me). Or maybe you already have some health issues and you want to change your health status. All excellent reasons to pursue a healthy lifestyle.
The Billion Dollar Food Industry
It is a very important step to make the decision to be healthy because without your conscious decision, you will become unhealthy. The food industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, and they do work for those billions. They work harder than most people know. The food manufacturers spend millions of dollars researching what foods, flavors and combinations people want the most. The food industry wants to make foods that people crave and will buy again and again. The big food corporations know that foods that are high in salt, sugar and fats will keep you coming back for more. Not only that, but foods are produced to be the tri-fecta, they are called super-saturated by the industry because these foods are loaded with fat, sugar and salt. These are the foods that many people will buy again and again. Think a double hamburger with double cheese and bacon. Think pizza with cheese in the crust! Does anybody really need more cheese? No one will get healthy eating foods that are loaded with salt, sugar and fats. But they will become very un-healthy.
$20-60 Billion Spent on Weight Loss Yearly
The food corporations don’t care if you get high blood pressure, or diabetes, or a stroke. The food corporations don’t care if you need to see your doctor once a month and end up on 4 prescription medications by the time you are 55 which leads to 8 prescriptions by the time you are 65. The food corporations don’t care if you get cancer.
After buying foods that are not contributing in a positive way to your life, you will then be faced with an ugly financial situation. The figures for how much is spent annually for weight loss on diet programs, gym memberships, books, surgeries, and diet pills varies depending on the source, but ranges from $20-60 billion! That is a lot of money every year for something that is mostly preventable.
You will not get healthy eating food that is processed. If the bulk of your diet is foods that are from manufacturing companies, you will not be healthy. This is a fact, not an opinion.
Can You Get Healthy Eating Food?
Yes, it is thee only way to get healthy. You can’t get healthy by starving, since that will lead to death. So, it is a matter of eating foods that provide the nutrients your body needs to be its best. To get healthy eating food all you need to know is the right foods to eat.
How to Re-Set Your Body
The human body is truly amazing and yes, it’s very forgiving too. If you change your diet to healthy foods your body will respond. Yes, you really can get healthy eating food. Yes, you can really stay healthy for life!
When it is flu season, as it always will be one time every year, the ongoing health of your body will have some influence as to whether you catch it or not. No, there is no guarantee, but it is worth the time put into being healthy and increasing your chances of not succumbing to the flu. Full Body 30 Day Vegan Cleanse can teach you how you can bring your body into a healthy state and keep it that way.
Thee best defense you can have against being taken down by the flu each year is your diet. Your diet sets up your internal environment. Your immune system can be helped tremendously by the nutrients that go into your body. And your mucous membranes are greatly altered by the foods you eat. Your mucous membranes being your sinuses, and even your lungs, are one of the first places a virus enters. Since your mucous membranes can be an environment that easily houses viruses or is not as hospitable to viruses is very important to whether a virus stays and then breeds or can not easily stay in your mucous membrane tissue and then does not become a problem. The foods you eat do directly affect the health of your mucous membranes.
How your body is right now, is the result of all the things you do to it. It is the result of whether or not your body is moved, exercised or not. Your body is also the result of the foods it gets. Helping your immune system is a matter of eating foods that will supply your body with only good nutrients, not artificial man-made ingredients. The foods that will serve you best through this flu season, and always, are vegetables, beans, fruits and grains.

It is now a few weeks past January 1st, and it may be time to re-think again about the New Years resolution you made for yourself. Think about why you wanted to bring about those changes into your life. Remember the end result you wanted from that resolution. It gets tough for the majority of people even by the end of January to stick with their resolution. This is evidenced in the statistic that by the end of January, the majority of people with New Years resolutions have already given up on them.
That is a shame. This is the perfect time to think about how you can make this resolution manifest for your life. You may have to dig down a little bit more and realize the changes you need to bring into your life. You may need to talk to your supportive friends and family members and engage their help. You made need a plan.
If you need help with a plan so you can accomplish your New Years resolution to be healthy, this is your plan to success! Every day for 30 days, is completely laid out for you to follow. It is easy to follow. The recipes are not complicated, but are all very good! To be successful always requires a plan. This is a great plan!
All plans have steps to them, to be done in a specific order to ensure success. Your New Years resolution will require steps to be taken to be successful. The first step is the thought, the thought that there is a change you want to make. Most likely, this has been a thought you have had several times. For most people, their New Years resolution comes about after they have thought about the matter for a period of time. It is a big enough issue driving millions of people to make a decision that going forward from January 1, they strongly desire to make that change.
To be successful in your New Years resolution:
Step 1: Be clear on your New Years resolution.
Step 2: Take action.
Step 3: Commit to your New Years resolution
Step 4: Have a plan in place that will allow you to be successful at your New Years resolution.
The very delicious kale salad I made only came about because all of the above steps were followed.Step 1) I had an idea, the kale salad. Step 2) I took action, I bought the kale and all the other ingredients I wanted in the salad. Step 3) I committed to making the salad and the dressing for it. Step 4) I had a plan in order to create this delicious salad for my family to keep them healthy!
Moving forward on encouraging you to be successful in your New Years resolution. (If you haven’t read the previous 2 posts on New Years resolutions, I encourage you to do that.)
Step 1: Be clear on your New Years resolution.
Step 2: Take action.
Step 3: Commit to your New Years resolution.
Commit to your resolution. You have thought about it, you have wanted the changes, now commit to make those changes. To ensure your success, have a plan, and have support. Support in terms of friends or family that will support you in wanting these positive changes. If you have people around you that will not be supportive while you make these changes, please minimize your time with them. Or maybe, you have friends or family in your life that will make these same changes in their own life and you can bring about these changes together. I know that there have been groups of people that have done Full Body 30 Day Vegan Cleanse together. They loved the experience and loved being able to go through it with friends.
Commit to yourself. Most all New Years resolutions are for positive changes people want to bring into their life, realize that you are worth the time, the effort and the learning that may be required for you to make these changes.
Commit to yourself. On the other side, once you have made the changes you want in your life, there is a better you!
Step 4: Make a plan. This post to be continued. The yummy kale salad I made only came about because I had a thought, I took action, I committed to that thought of what I wanted, and then I had a plan.
As you may have read in yesterdays post, almost 40% of Americans make New Years resolutions, being millions of people. Out of that 40%, 38% are resolutions to loose weight. Even better than just loosing weight though is learning to be healthy. Because if you learn that- you have the knowledge to stay healthy for the rest of your life!
Even better than that – you can raise your family healthy! Full Body 30 Day Vegan Cleanse teaches you how to do that!
To be successful in your New Years resolution:
Step 1: Be clear on your New Years resolution.
Step 2: Take action.
Step 3: Commit to your New Years resolution.
Take action toward this new direction you want in your life. All New Years resolutions are for positive changes. People have very good intentions. And, people sincerely want to benefit from the positive resolutions that they had desired. This leads then into what is required next, and that is action. A resolution is a thought, to achieve results, taking physical steps toward the resolution will begin to bring that resolution closer to actually being manifested.
As in this yummy kale salad. It started as a thought that this is what I wanted to make for dinner. Then I went out, got the kale and then proceeded through the steps needed to manifest this yummy and VERY healthy dinner for my beautiful family! Stay tuned tomorrow for making that commitment to your New Years resolution.
